Wings Of Inspiration Elderly Care Centre in Randfontein has accommodation available that you can trust for your loved ones. Residents are provided with a safe and secure environment allowing them to move independently through the gardens with or without someone accompanying them. Includes 3 nutritious meals per day, fun activities, and access to television and WiFi. We also have security cameras on the premises.
We started with 19 residents staying in the main house, and one of the cottages on the property. We currently have 65 residents and occupy all 8 of the cottages on the property.
In February 2019, Wings of Inspiration Care Centre heard about the plight of the elderly residents at the Have a Heart Care Centre, an Old Age Home which was situated in the Roodepoort CBD, and we starting assisting them with food.
The Old Age Home was uninhabitable, with water leaks flooding the place, and rats running around freely. Most of the windows had to be boarded up as their was no glass, and the home wasn't being managed properly.
Kirsten and Anthea decided that something drastic had to be done, and they identified the challenges and objectives therein, and it was made a top priority to locate alternative premises that would be conducive for a healthy living environment.
In June 2019 Wings of Inspiration aquired land on a farm in Randfontein, South Africa, and we renovated an existing building, and converted it into an Old Age Home. This immediately had a massive impact on the lives of the Elderly Residents, instilling new life into them.
In March 2020 we took full control and the name was officially changed to Wings of Inspiration Elderly Care Centre, and we relocated the Elderly residents to a much better, much bigger home in Randfontein.
In November 2020 we launched a Semi-Frail Care Centre, where our residents are well looked after, bathed, take care of their toe nails and take them for walks through our gardens.
As a Non-Profit Company, we do not get any financial assistance from the Government. All of our residents only receive a very small Social Grant every month (SASSA Pension), and we are desperately in need of funding and donations of any kind.
Many of our Elderly Residents do not have family that come and visit them, and as a result, have become very lonely. We welcome any volunteers that would like to come and spend some time with them and entertain them.
We URGENTLY need a ride-on lawnmower and any other garden tools as we have a huge garden that needs to be maintained.
We URGENTLY need a minibus (Toyota Quantum, Hyundai H1 or VW Caravelle or similar) so that we can take our Elderly Residents to the Clinic and to go shopping.
