In February 2019, Wings of Inspiration Care Centre heard about the plight of the elderly residents at the Have a Heart Care Centre, an Old Age Home which was situated in the Roodepoort CBD, and we starting assisting them with food.
The Old Age Home was uninhabitable, with water leaks flooding the place, and rats running around freely. Most of the windows had to be boarded up as their was no glass, and the home wasn't being managed properly.
Kirsten and Anthea decided that something drastic had to be done, and they identified the challenges and objectives therein, and it was made a top priority to locate alternative premises that would be conducive for a healthy living environment.
In June 2019 Wings of Inspiration aquired land on a farm in Randfontein, South Africa, and we renovated an existing building, and converted it into an Old Age Home. This immediately had a massive impact on the lives of the Elderly Residents, instilling new life into them.
In February 2020 the name was changed to Wings of Inspiration Elderly Care Centre, and we relocated the Elderly residents to a much better, much bigger home in Randfontein.
We currently have 25 residents, staying in the main house, and in three of the cottages on the property. We are planning to take over the remaining five cottages, and create a Frail Care Section as well.
